What's on my Bedside Table?

One of the blogs I follow MAKE me UP did a blog post like this and I really liked it. So I decided to create my own version! So Voila! At the moment there is an odd theme going on... but it wasn't on purpose lol

Sanctuary Youth Boosting Night Concentrate
This is the first Sanctuary Spa Essentials product I have ever tried and to be honest I really didn't know what to expect, I saw it on 3 for 2 in Boots and decided to give it a go, and was really pleasantly surprised, It has a very distinct scent that is half fruity half herbally. I really like it. and I have noticed my skin feels a lot softer and smoother in the morning.

Soap For Glory Body Butter

This was another item I chose as part of the 3 for 2 offer in boots. My sister had this before and i loved the smell. So sweet, So I decided to buy a travel size pot and see how i get on. Its definitely very rich and moisturisng. However it is very heavily perfumed so if that is not your thing, then I would advise you to steer clear.

Sanctuary's Radiance Exfoliator
This is properly the odd one out of the list but I don't care it was the 3rd part of my 3 for 2 deal, I think this is a lovely product when i opened it i was shocked by the colour of the product its brown. but i think that adds to it. it has a lovely lemony apricot smell, It says to use every 2 to 3 days but because of the smell I want to use it more lol!

Ponds Cold Cleansing Cream
I picked this one up on a whim my Garnier rose cleanser had just run out and I was in the pharmacy pondering which cleanser to get I don't like gels at all or ones that need to be rinsed off. I like one I can apply with a cotton wool and get all my make up off.. This cleanser is kind of a cross between the two and it smells quite florally, the pack says you can use with cotton wool or for best results rinse it off... I have tried rinsing it off and not rinsing it off and just using my toner. If you don't rinse off or use a toner it leaves the skin feeling a bit sticky. so you definitely need to combine this with a toner at least.

Garnier Rose Toner
I bought the Garnier rose toner about 2 months ago and its now half full and I think it works great especially with my ponds cleanser cream which I like to use with cotton wool rather than rinsing off all the time. so this one is handy to remove any excess cream that's not absorbed. I think its hard to go wrong with toners really I have used the boots essential Cucumber toner and Essence's blackcurrant toner and they have all been pretty similar except for the scents.

Nivea Radiance boosting Eye Cream

Lastly I am using Nivea Radiance boosting Eye Cream, it comes in a pretty pink tube. I think its good for moisturizing  but it does leave a bit of a shimmer after you use it, So if you don't like that I would avoid it. I personally think if you want a good eye cream you need to pay a good price, and at the moment i am not overly concerned about my eyes so I am happy to stick with nivea but perhaps in a few years time i will start buying into more expensive eye creams.

Villains you can't help but love

My number one favourite Tv show at the moment is Once Upon A Time, Me and my boyfriend can't get enough of this show, its the only thing we want to see on a Monday night. We love hypothesizing what's going to happen next and what such and such mean... Really if you are not watching this you really need to start tuning in. This week there was no new episode and me and my boyfriend literally didn't know what to do with ourselves lol.

Our Favourite Villain in Once Upon a Time has got to be Rumplestlitskin AKA Mr Gold Allright dearry??
A Close second is Captain Cook

I can't wait til these two characters are reunited in the show then there will be a huge showdown....

Another Tv show I am beyond obsessed with is Vampire Diaries and what would it be without its numerous villains!? The main one at the moment is Klaus :D
But bad things tend to happen to Villains in Vampire Diaries eventually....... like poor auld Alaric. He didn't last long as a villain

Honey I'm home!!!

The 15th of October marked me and my boyfriend's 2 year anniversary, So on the day I went on a shopping hunt trying to figure out what I should get him I set my budget at 50 euro. At the beginning I was thinking either a  David Beckham aftershave set... or a FCUK Gift set.

But then when I got to the city centre I eventually decided upon a Blue HOODY from New Look with an emphasis on Hoody because the hood is what makes the hoody so special because of the design on it. I also bought him some new socks. Random I know but seriously we run out of socks in our apartment like nobody's business.
This is not the exact hoody but something similar...

Once his present was all paid for and decided I fell in love with something in the body shop. I found something that I need to have! Peach Body butter, Oh my god I was blown away. The smell was absolutely delightful, the texture is like nothing i had felt before in any of my regular body lotions. I am seriously lusting after it.

I only own two other products with any sort of peach scent, A peach lip balm and Garnier body 7 Day intensive peach extract. and the scents of these two products is nothing compared to the Peach body butter from the Body Butter. It just completely obliviates the garnier 7 day intensive peach gel.

Sadly Body Butters in the Body Shop cost 18 euro which is a tad steep for me.... So as a consolation I went and bought Garnier Body Honey scented lotion. While its no Peach Body Butter from the body shop. It did smell gorgeous when i first smelt it, and as I'd never owned anything honey scented before it was a nice change and it was half price 2.02 Euro in Hickeys Pharmacy, which is a real bargain. But after a few uses I actually can't bear the scent any more and have completely stopped using it. :(

So have any of you found something in the Body Shop that completely blew your socks off? Have you found  any of the Garnier Body Lotions or Gels any good?

10 Ways to Sabotage yourself at an interview

There are a lot of websites that give you interview do's, but not so many that talk about interview don't's. I read about the Debenhams survey that revealed the ultimate turn offs at interviews and what certain things mean. I don't know whether I can agree with all of them... but here is the list

Chipped nails - a certain sign that they are nervous or unprepared.

Chipped Nails was voted the ultimate no no and the biggest blunder of all because lets face it, literally the first thing you do when you enter an interview is shake hands... I suffer from chipped nail varnish all the time.not neccessarily because I'm nervous, but mainly because I don't buy top of the range expensive nail varnish like OPI, Sally Hansen etc. I don't know whats causing it. but I have found one product that I can't wait to try OPI Chip Skip
Have any of you tried it? Here are a few quick tips how to use it.

1 Remove all nail polish and wash your hands thoroughly and dry off.
2 Apply Chip Skip to each nail.
3. Apply a Base Coat, then 2 coats of a nail polish of your choice
4. Apply a Top Coat

Smudged mascara signifies a party animal
This is something I suffer from occasionally when I wear Mascara mainly because I wear contact lenses and sometimes my eyes get watery so the best way to get over this is to use a waterproof mascara like  LANCOME DEFINICILS WATERPROOF MASCARA or  L'OREAL PARIS DOUBLE EXTEND WATERPROOF MASCARA

Fake tan suggests the applicant will be taking too many holidays.
I actually think the oposite, If someone is wearing fake tan, it means they probably would like to go on holidays but a fake tan is a cheaper alternative....but if you are worried about this I would suggest going for ST Tropez Natural range or the St Tropez Gradual Range which will give you a subtle tan but not too overbearing...

A slick of bright red lipstick, heavily pencilled brows  revealed an overconfident personality,
Like everything it should be applied with moderation and as Tim Gunn would say use it thoughtfully,

A shortage of mascara suggested the woman could be an emotional wreck who wastes no time in putting on what will inevitably be cried off within hours.

A trace of lipstick on a woman’s teeth could imply carelessness, while a strong line of foundation hinted at a lack of attention to detail.

A drawn-on fake beauty spot could cause an interviewer to doubt the honesty of the candidate.
Split ends tell an employer the would-be recruit is lazy,

perfume revealed an overconfident personality,

a woman appearing in immaculate make-up could ring alarm bells - telling the interviewer to watch out for their own job.
There is no pleasing some people!!

Pain is Beauty... This time it really is...

When I was growing up my mom always made comments like, pain is beauty, like the first time I got my eye brows plucked by my sister, I felt like I was getting tortured to death, I even went around the house for a while with one eye brow plucked and one unplucked because the pain was that bad. After that first time I never let my sister pluck them again, I prefer to pluck them myself,

Another thing that obviously is a real pain is waxing..... something I am yet to try, for the moment I just rely on my old reliable shaver. but even that can be a pain when you cut yourself by accident ouch.

But these are all nothing compared to the latest Japanese trend, Bagel Head and Earpointing. Have you heard of it? I always knew Japanese were a bit wacky but this is extreme...

This extraordinary look, is created by injecting saline into the forehead, then pressing in the centre of the swollen area with a thumb, Apparently its a big hit in Japan's underground body modification scene.

The dramatic results of the two-hour treatment last just 16-24 hours, after which the saline is absorbed by the body and the forehead reduces back to its normal size. Thank god for that.

Well you can watch the whole procedure being done on the TV show Taboo in January 2013 on the National Geographic Channel

But I personally was a bit more intrigued about the Earpointing Trend, this is when you have your ears turned pointy so that they look kind of like a cat’s ears. I am a big Cat fan especially Kim Kardashians new cat Mercy... Is it not the cutest cat you have ever seen?

If I was reincarnated as a cat this cute I would be happy lol. But I am going off topic, Check out some photos of ear pointing...  I like the result but not the process lol.

Would any of you reading this be brave enough to try either of these trends? Considering I almost fainted getting a manicure and giving a blood sample I for one will definitely pass.
